Tanca Regia is preparing to host its second weekend of show jumping with a record number of entrants: 280 are lining up for the second stage of the Asvi Trophy, taking place from Friday to Sunday at the Abbasanta facility.

The pairs will compete in various races and specialties, divided into the ASVI Trophy, organized by the regional agency for the development and promotion of horse racing to foster and improve horses born and bred in Sardinia. The competition ranges from 4-year-olds to 5, 6, and 7-year-olds and older, with the two-round C140 Grand Prix, taking place on Sunday, reserved for horses at least 8 years old. The event begins on Friday at 8:15 a.m. with the training sessions, followed by three consecutive rounds in the 130, 120, and 115 categories. The remaining competitions will take place on Saturday and Sunday, for a total of 33 events.

Worth noting in the first stage was the thrilling head-to-head in the two-round Grand Prix between the only two pairs who consistently had a clear course: in the end, Piero Pala prevailed by just over a second and a half on the German grey Zweitschrift, ahead of Antonio Meloni on Vadir, who for his part won the 8-year-old and over classification of the Asvi Trophy.

Giovanni Carboni on Darezzo secured a clean sweep in the C135 for 7-year-olds, and Marco Arca on Eldorado Blue in the 6-year-olds; 10 tied riders secured a clean sweep in the precision category for 5-year-olds, and 23 pairs completed the course without errors in the 4-year-olds.
