The vessel that was found by a fishing boat on the seabed off Marritza is under seizure at the warehouse of the Port Authority of Porto Torres . According to an initial recognition by the owner, it would be the semi-cabin boat of about six meters, which disappeared from the deep seabed of the port of Porto Torres, and sank on April 12, 2023, with on board the two cousins Davide Calvia, 37 years old, and Giovannino Pinna, 35, the only survivor of the shipwreck .
Calvia's body was found ten days later, now lifeless, off the coast of Lu Bagnu, in Castelsardo. Her cousin Pinna was rescued semi-frozen 24 hours after the shipwreck on the beach of Porchile, in Platamona. Some suspicions fall on him. Initially investigated for negligent shipwreck, he was later charged with manslaughter.
The recovery operation of the semi-cabin vessel was carried out in recent days by the Turritan Coast Guard after the fishing vessel, once hooked up to the boat, had dragged it near the Turritan dock. It is currently safely in a warehouse of the Harbour Office at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
