The Oristano State Police arrested a man who had been issued a prison warrant for aggravated sexual assault against a minor. The order was issued following a final conviction, which became irrevocable following the ruling of the Court of Cassation.

The man still has two years of prison remaining. He has also been banned from holding public office and placed on probation, which will be applied upon completion of his sentence.

The events date back to 2021, when two minors had been temporarily entrusted by their respective parents to the man, a family friend.

According to what was discovered during the investigation, the man, taking advantage of the foster care situation and the exclusive presence of one of the minors, sexually abused her.

The man was tracked down by investigators from the Oristano and Cagliari Flying Squads in a town in the Oristano hinterland. He was taken to Massama prison.
