A room, a young man in a clearly altered state, and a dynamic that is anything but straightforward. The second incident, considered the most complex, is the starting point for the legal proceedings that will bring a maître d', originally from Sassari, before the collegiate court of Nuoro in April . The preliminary hearing judge, Alessandra Ponti , has ordered the man to be sent for trial , accused of sexual assault against two men for events that allegedly occurred in the spring of 2023 at a hospitality facility in Dorgali. To avoid any possibility of identifying the injured parties, the names of the accused and those of the alleged victims are not being disclosed.

According to the prosecution, in early May 2023, the defendant allegedly took advantage of the mentally and physically inferior condition of a 23-year-old man, impaired by alcohol, inducing him to submit to and perform sexual acts against his will. This appears paradoxical: although the physically injured person was the active participant in the sexual act, the Nuoro Prosecutor's Office believes that the defendant initiated and coerced the act, exploiting the young man's inability to resist. This theory is disputed by the defense, maintaining that the sexual act was consensual. A preliminary hearing was ordered for this incident, as for the other. During that hearing, both alleged victims gave statements, clarifying their heterosexual orientation and reiterating the lack of consent.

A few days earlier, a very similar incident had also been reported to the maître d'. It was late April 2023. The defendant allegedly forced a 26-year-old man to perform sexual acts using violence and threats, restraining and touching him despite his explicit dissent. Only after several minutes did the alleged victim manage to push him away. According to the Prosecutor's Office, the man then continued with advances and threats to prevent him from speaking. Both alleged victims were in the Nuoro area for the working season, a circumstance which, according to the prosecution, would have made them particularly vulnerable in a context far from their hometowns. The defendant is being defended by a panel of lawyers composed of Alberto Angelo Tavera, Francesco Lai, and Sebastian Cocco. The alleged victims have joined the civil action, assisted by Nicola Floris . The trial, starting in April in Nuoro, will shed full light on this complex and delicate matter.
