The weather alert for Sardinia has been extended. The Civil Protection Department has issued a new bulletin with a yellow-level warning of critical hydrogeological risk for the island, which remains at the mercy of severe weather. The alert is in effect from 2:00 PM today until noon tomorrow, January 30th. The affected areas, in addition to Campidano, are Iglesiente, Montevecchio Pischinappiu, Flumendosa Flumineddu, and Tirso.
In Cagliari, as a precaution and to protect public health and safety, the Civil Protection Department has identified several streets in the Municipality of Pirri where parking should be avoided. These streets are Via Balilla (from Piazza Italia to Via Dandolo) and its adjacent streets: Via Italia, Dolianova, Sinnai, Settimo, Mara, Donori, Santorre di Santarosa, Confalonieri, and Ampere. A safe parking area has also been identified near the Terramaini municipal swimming pool, on Via Pisano.
This is also in light of the regional Civil Protection weather forecast, which predicts the possibility of "widespread precipitation, including showers or isolated thunderstorms, with light, locally moderate cumulative precipitation and strong southwesterly winds on the coasts and ridges, then shifting to the north."
