From the early hours of dawn, the rain has been falling continuouslyAnother intense day of severe weather in Sardinia, with disruptions concentrated primarily in Gallura and the Alghero area. Since the early hours of dawn, rain has been falling steadily, forcing firefighters to work tirelessly to address the critical situation.
Teams from the Olbia and Arzachena command centers have been working tirelessly since this morning. Dozens of interventions have already been completed, primarily for flooded roads, water infiltrations, and apartments and basements that need to be drained. Numerous emergency calls are still pending, waiting to be answered in the coming hours.
The hamlet of Cugnana, in the Olbia area, was particularly hard hit, where firefighters from Arzachena intervened in several locations to limit the damage caused by the flooding. Operations were concentrated primarily in the areas most exposed to rainwater accumulation.
The La Maddalena fire brigade was also called upon to respond to severe weather conditions on multiple fronts.
Despite the disruption, no injuries have been reported. The situation remains under constant monitoring, while rescue teams continue operations to ensure the safety of residents and infrastructure while awaiting improved weather conditions.
