Settimo Nizzi is the new president of the Northeast Gallura Province.

Olbia's mayor, Settimo Nizzi, is the new president of the newly formed Province of Gallura in Northeast Sardinia. With 262 votes out of 280 (and eighteen blank ballots, five from his city council members), Nizzi will lead the body, championing the unity of the twenty-six Gallura municipalities.

Supported by the single-party list Uniti per la Gallura e il Monte Acuto, Nizzi will sit on the Provincial Council alongside ten councilors elected by a mix of regional and political parties, with seven representatives from the center-right and three from the center-left. Turnout at the polling station set up in the Provincial Palace in Olbia was 77 percent.
