Found about 300 plants of Indian hemp, on average 180 centimeters tallA fifty-one-year-old from Sestu was arrested at dawn this morning, after the discovery of a large marijuana plantation in some abandoned municipal greenhouses. The operation by the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command of Cagliari began in the countryside of Sestu, surprising the arrested man - with no criminal record - while he was operating a drip irrigation system that fed, in total autonomy, about 300 Indian hemp plants, on average 180 centimeters tall.
During the house search, the carabinieri discovered another 200 grams of already dried inflorescences and 1.5 kg of the same substance in the drying phase , together with precision scales and everything necessary for the transformation, packaging and bagging of the narcotic.
The investigations carried out by the Carabinieri of the Ris of Cagliari confirmed that these were plants with a high content of active ingredient, suitable for the production of a high-quality narcotic substance . The validation hearing for the fifty-one-year-old, with a direct trial, is set for today.
