Accident on Tuesday afternoon in Sestu in via Montgolfier, at the intersection with via Monserrato. A 17-year-old boy was hit by an unknown driver, who immediately sped off. The young man suffered some abrasions and was very scared. The facts are recounted by Lorena Porceddu, the boy's mother: "My son was hit by a red SUV. There was a big man driving, with a woman next to him. He stopped or slowed down for a few moments, then drove off again without even a word of apology."

No one was on the street at the time, but the woman still made an appeal via social media to find possible witnesses and above all to contact the anonymous driver: " We filed a complaint with the local police, the cameras of the bank in front of the crosswalk could have caught you. Do the right thing: get in touch . I can't believe you didn't realize you hit my son, I heard the screams of pain from my house, with the windows closed".

Lorena concludes: " If you show up to apologize, I can even withdraw the complaint ." Fortunately, it is not a serious incident, but it has nevertheless caused anger and dismay. In the very center of the city there are still too many drivers who speed too much, are undisciplined, or distracted. There have also already been accidents; for example, last year in Via Roma a woman was hit.

The municipal offices are also studying the possibility of installing raised pedestrian crossings in various streets in the near future . «I send my solidarity and closeness to the boy and his family and an invitation to everyone to be prudent and respect the highway code, comments the mayor Paola Secci.
