Head trauma in La Maddalena, hospitalization denied in Sassari due to lack of neurosurgeons and transfer to San Francesco in Nuoro.

There was the accident, but also the misadventure of encountering the inefficiencies of the Sardinian healthcare system for a young man who was seriously injured after a six-meter fall.

His conditions immediately appeared worrying. For this reason the helicopter rescue landed in La Maddalena. After an initial stabilization on site, the Areus helicopter took off towards Sassari. But, having verified the unavailability of neurosurgeons ready to operate on the head, it headed towards the capital of Barbagia: a slalom, with a red code on board.
