A serious accident occurred this afternoon, around 2:30 PM, on provincial road 34 towards Stintino, where the Porto Torres firefighters responded to a road accident at kilometer markers 21/22.

A car with two people on board, for reasons yet to be determined, went off the road and ended up crashing into trees and becoming trapped among the branches.

To extricate the people, chainsaws had to be used to cut down trees and access the car. Once extricated, the occupants were handed over to 118 paramedics and transported to the Sassari hospital.
Also on site were the Carabinieri of Palmadula, the 118 ambulance of Stintino and the air rescue of Alghero.
