Punches, slaps, humiliations. A serious scenario was described in court in Sassari a few days ago by prosecutor Giovanni Dore during the hearing against a 43-year-old man from Alghero . He is accused of mistreatment of his family in Sennori from 2012 to 2019.

The reported incidents involve violent behavior toward the ex-wife, including attacks that allegedly occurred in front of the couple's five children, as well as the child conceived by the injured party in a previous relationship. The latter, according to the charges, was kicked and slapped and forced, the magistrate reports, "to stand all night on a tile while the defendant walked around him, slapping him."

The 43-year-old man allegedly took the teenager to a secluded spot in Sennori to challenge him to a car jack fight, an "invitation" the young man refused, resulting in him being insulted. But the incidents at issue are numerous, including those involving the couple's daughter, who was also allegedly beaten. The injuries are also alleged, as the man allegedly threw a coffee pot at his ex-partner, hitting her and causing several bruises. He also attacked his son, who intervened to defend his mother. "Sooner or later I'll kill you," was one of the phrases he allegedly used towards the woman.

The prosecutor has requested a sentence of 4 years and 6 months, a 5-year ban from holding public office, and the removal of parental rights. Judge Valentina Nuvoli has scheduled the defense attorneys, Liliana Pintus and Tania Decortes, representing the civil plaintiff and the defendant, respectively, for next week.
