A night to be forgotten , or long remembered, but which, for now, has faded into oblivion for the person involved. A 30-year-old, who has little or no recollection of why, was arrested yesterday by the Porto Torres Carabinieri, facing a slew of charges stemming from the events between Sorso and Sennori.

According to the charges, the man was driving while intoxicated and under the influence of drugs and, near Sennori, caused a series of accidents, finally crashing into the wall of a house . Meanwhile, he also hit another car and, despite the driver's injuries, drove away without providing assistance.

The Carabinieri finally intervened, but had a hard time restraining the man, who was in a severely altered state of mind and body, due to a series of substances revealed by hospital tests. Once he was placed in the officers' patrol car, the 30-year-old began kicking the window so violently that it broke. This led to another charge, aggravated damage, in addition to failure to render aid and carrying a firearm without a license, because a metal baseball bat was in his vehicle.

Today in Sassari court, the man attended a validation hearing, represented by attorney Paola Alessandra Pittalis. He admitted to remembering nothing of what happened except hitting a wall. Prosecutor Elisa Succu requested house arrest and an electronic tag, while Judge Paolo Bulla ordered him to remain in Porto Torres and to be prohibited from leaving the house during the evening and night hours.
