Thirteen system actions, five priority macro areas and a series of projects that shape the Selargius of the future in the Strategic Plan of the Metropolitan City. After the approval in July and two years of work, with meetings, comparisons, questionnaires, analyzes and technical tables - which involved the seventeen bodies -, we move on to the operational phase, baptized by the Municipal Council of Piazza Cellarium which in the last session unanimously approved the proposed resolution with acknowledgment of the document.

“It is another important step for our community, a starting point that allows us to lay the foundations for the development of our territory”, observes Mayor Gigi Concu. As for Selargius more strictly, the projects envisage the connection between the parks, with the strengthening of the ecological corridors and the creation of a cycle / pedestrian connection that, starting from the Riu Mortu, will connect with the Sinnai pine forest, crossing Piazza Giovanni and Terramaini. It is also our intention to create a cycle / pedestrian connection between the former Polveriera and the Policlinico, and to extend the linear park until reaching Molentargius crossing Quartucciu ”, explains the mayor.

But in the Selargius to come there is much more: “We have foreseen the study of a collection basin, which, thanks to the help of new rolling tanks, will allow to mitigate the hydraulic risk and the known problems of our territory”, he underlines. And then space for the biodistrict: "Area where farmers, citizens, tour operators, associations and public administrations will be able to establish an agreement for the sustainable management of local resources, starting from the biological model of production and consumption"; and an Axis of culture, which from piazza maria Vergine Assunta will connect the sites and monuments present in the municipal area with the cultural heritage of Quartucciu and Quartu, with a view to an associated management that best enhances our wealth.

“We also aim to improve the quality of life through the strengthening of infrastructures, both physical (in particular the light rail) and digital (optical fiber)”, concludes the mayor. The action plan is ready, now all that remains is to wait for the calls and funding to turn all the projects into reality.
