Aggravated theft and escape . These are the charges facing a 36-year-old unemployed man living in Selargius , arrested by the Carabinieri of the Quartu Sant'Elena Company's Mobile Radio Unit.

The man, who was under house arrest, was spotted by officers attempting to hide under a parked car . After being stopped, he was searched and found on him items recently stolen from the perfume shop in the "Al Parco" shopping center.

The stolen goods, consisting of seven packs of perfume and 126 euros in cash , for a total value of approximately 500 euros, were returned in full to their rightful owner.

The man was instead arrested and taken to court for a fast-track trial before a judge.
