Tragedy occurred a few minutes ago along provincial road 15, at the intersection with Via del Lavoro , where a violent collision between a car and a motorbike cost the life of a 27-year-old motorcyclist, William Salis from Cagliari.

According to an initial reconstruction by the Carabinieri of the Quartu Mobile Radio Unit, who responded to the scene together with officers from the Sestu and Selargius stations, the Benelli motorbike, with two people on board, collided head-on with a Ford C Max for reasons still under investigation.

The impact was devastating. William Salis died instantly, while his passenger, his cousin William Salis, was treated for serious injuries and taken to Cagliari hospital with critical condition. The female driver, however, was unharmed.

Emergency medical personnel also arrived on the scene and made lengthy attempts to resuscitate the victim. The Carabinieri conducted technical surveys to accurately reconstruct the accident and determine any liability.
