This morning, Carabinieri officers from the Sennori station reported two men to the Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office, who are at liberty, for illegal possession of weapons and ammunition. The officers, along with their colleagues from Sorso, searched the residence because they had reasonable grounds to believe that one of the two men was carrying illegally held weapons and ammunition.
The search operation led to the discovery of 149 rounds of 12-gauge ammunition, an iron blank pistol, an exact replica of the Beretta 98FS pistol, with an empty magazine and a removable red cap not inserted but lodged in the base of the barrel. A crossbow with four arrows and six-pointed darts was also found, as well as a knuckleduster. All weapons and ammunition were seized, while objects capable of causing harm were seized as a precautionary measure, due to the possibility of their use in the commission of crimes or to endanger public safety.
