Two and a half days after the Ardia, the town is filled with the atmosphere of great expectation. However, everything seems ready to celebrate what the people of Seggio recognize as a religious festival. Concepts underlined by Don Maurizio Demartis, parish priest of the community, who has designated Leonardo Pes as the race leader. "It is a sacred act - he highlights - because whoever carries the flag embodies Saint Constantine".

Mayor Salvatore Pes emphasizes how the Ardia is something unique . "A deep bond, an ancient tie that unites the entire population. Sedilo would not be Sedilo without the Ardia". Emotions grow in those who will experience it as protagonists. Leonardo Pes, pandela matzore, brings with him the dream he has been waiting for since he was a boy: "It's a truly unique feeling", he confesses. Next to him, his son Andrea, almost twenty years old, will be the third flag. A choice made with the heart but not only. "I know his qualities well, I'm happy he's by my side".

At the heart of the race is also Mario Nieddu, second flag, a silent but fundamental presence : «This is Leonardo's Ardia, his lifelong awaited celebration». He will be at his side with the strength of a friendship far away in time. A tension that involves the entire Pes family, as Barbara Muredda, mother and wife, tells us. «These are indescribable sensations, which we are experiencing together with our other daughter Gaia. We entrust ourselves to faith and to the Saint».

Then there are the riflemen, guardians of the race. Costantino Nurachi , a veteran with 42 Ardie behind him, speaks with the wisdom of experience: «Our role is fundamental for the safety of the riders and the public». Mario Melosu , president of the Fusilieris, reiterates: «Our presence is not folkloristic, everyone has a specific task and we move along the route with great responsibility and a sense of belonging ».

Angelo Porcu, president of the Santu Antinu Association, emphasizes the great commitment of a group that works all year to prepare every detail. "We are proud to represent the country, the tension is very high, but it is a collective emotion that unites us." Sara Faedda is the prioress of the Council of San Costantino, the group of women who take care of the custody and all the services related to the religious part in the sanctuary of San Costantino. "We are animated by so much faith and we have the delicate task of preparing everything in a punctual and careful manner, participating in all the religious functions. It is a beautiful and touching experience."
