No case to answer for the 48-year-old from Ittiri accused of having spied on several women in the bathrooms of the Veterinary Department in Sassari in 2023 through some cameras .
Yesterday in court, Judge Silvia Masala ordered the case to be concluded by applying Article 162-ter, meaning the crime was dismissed due to reparatory conduct . The man had already compensated the injured parties , as defense attorney Alessandra Pittalis pointed out. Pittalis requested the charge be upgraded from paragraph 3 of Article 615-bis, unlawful interference with private life, to paragraph 1, thus excluding certain aggravating circumstances and allowing the crime to be moved from being prosecuted ex officio to being prosecuted by a private party.
Prosecutor Ilaria Achenza supported the request, and the judge thus dismissed the case. The man, a research fellow at the time, had placed electronic devices in the bathrooms and recorded the women who entered them , eventually being discovered by the local police investigation. The plaintiffs were represented by lawyer Marco Spanu.
