Three instruments as black as licorice (Réglisse in French), three clarinets, with a dark and spicy sound, smooth and soft, yet capable of blowing and scratching like cats. This is the sonic image evoked by the Trio Réglisse , protagonists of the concert scheduled for Friday at 7 pm at the Dessì bookshop in Sassari, organized and produced by the Circolo Musicale Laborintus.
The trio is made up of Angelo Vargiu and Elena Ibba on clarinet and Cristiana Nuvoli on bass clarinet. The Trio Réglisse offers a musical journey that combines Mozart 's unparalleled elegance with music inspired by folk tales , exploring the more narrative and theatrical side of chamber music.
At the heart of the concert is " Rumpelstiltskin ," a composition by Angelo Vargiu, in which music and words interact to tell a famous German folk tale . Along with Michele Vargiu, the Trio accompanies the characters through their misfortunes and their search for happiness , sharing their emotions, fears, and hopes until the happy ending, in a constant alternation of tension and lightheartedness.
