Three years and eight months in prison. This is what prosecutor Angelo Beccu requested in the fast-track trial in Sassari against Vladimiro Cabizza, who is accused of stalking and arson for what occurred between November 6 and December 12, 2025, in the courtyard of Largo Budapest in the Sassari capital.
During that period, nine vehicles, including trucks, cars, and scooters, caught fire. According to the prosecution, the person responsible (with intent) was a 56-year-old man who lived in one of the buildings in the area. According to the prosecution, the fires also put the safety of residents at risk due to the presence of gas cylinders on the terraces a short distance from the flames.
To assess the man's mental state, and as requested by defense lawyers Giuseppe Masala and Anna Maria Santoru, a psychiatric evaluation was ordered, which certified his mental capacity at the time of the incident.
Preliminary hearing judge Giuseppe Grotteria adjourned the case until December 15th for replies and sentencing. The lawyers representing the civil parties are Maria Giovanna Marras, Paolo Spano, Raffaele Rocco, and Paolo Putzu.
