They had been targeting the facility for some time and finally managed to gain entry. In recent days, unknown assailants forced open the entrance to the Department of Culture in Sassari, located on Largo Infermeria San Pietro in the historic center.
The attack occurred at night, and the thieves, once inside, broke into the 24-hour vending machines and, seeing their presumably meager loot, made off, stealing an electric bicycle found inside. However, the bicycle was quickly recovered thanks to local police, who had already been monitoring the location after signs of attempted break-ins had been noted in the previous days.
Municipal police officers are still investigating this incident, which adds to other recent incidents involving several commercial businesses.
