Help for the children of Lebanon. It comes from the Rotary Club of Sassari, which recently delivered gifts to the soldiers of the Sassari Brigade departing for their new mission in the Middle East.
"We wanted," says the association's president, Salvatore Naitana, "to contribute to the little ones by providing stationery, from backpacks to pencils and crayons."
Eight large boxes will now be loaded into containers ready to embark. The delivery ceremony took place a few days ago at the Gonzaga Barracks. "We were awarded the Sassari Brigade emblem in recognition."
The Rotary Club of Sassari, the first in Sardinia, founded in 1949, has approximately 50 members and has been involved in charitable activities at all levels for years. Its size, both in numbers and influence, is also evident in the fact that the Lazio-Sardinia district, 2080, comprising 3,300 Rotarians, is governed by Adriana Muscas, a physician from Sassari.
“For us,” Naitana concludes, “all of this is of great importance and pushes us to continue our mission according to the motto 'United to do good'.”
