It's time to say goodbye to Colonel Massimiliano Pricchiazzi, who has led the provincial command of the Carabinieri in Sassari since 2022. The senior officer is about to join the General Command of the Carabinieri in Rome, taking on a new role.

"The outcome is positive," the colonel stated this morning at the headquarters on Via Rockefeller. "It was a very formative experience in a land of great values and traditions. We have always sought to provide solutions to the local community, for example by combating drug dealing and predatory crime, and by trying to provide security for citizens."

In the last three years, there have been two particularly significant incidents in the Sassari area involving the military: the attack on the Giave armored van in 2022 and the recent murder of Marco Pusceddu in Buddusò, where no one has yet been identified. "In the first case, we are dealing with criminals who are certainly not novices, and we needed thorough investigations. These elements must lead to a clear outcome, even at the trial stage. Also considering the aforementioned incident, it's clear that these are destabilizing events for the communities, but there's no need to raise alarm. I feel confident that the area is safe. I'm confident in the Carabinieri's actions, which will be able to provide a response."

A few days ago, a fire burned down 5,000 photovoltaic panels in Viddalba. "We need to find the right balance between protecting the environment and the landscape. We need more attention to renewables."

What advice would you give your successor? "To devote himself wholeheartedly to the Sardinian community."
