Sassari, the protest of the two villages
The outburst of the citizens of Caniga and Landrigga: «Ignored and abandoned»The villages of Caniga and La Landrigga , a few km from Sassari, protest against the municipal administration . They do it first with an open letter in which they define themselves as "ignored and abandoned", and then by meeting, last night, in front of the Mary Help of Christians church .
The outcry was triggered by what is branded as yet another refusal by the Municipality to the proposals to revive the two hamlets of Sassari . Lastly, the idea, registered and sent to the competent offices, of being able to use the disused premises of the La Landrigga school, closed for two years, for recreational, care and maintenance purposes. An initiative to which the Institute Council of the first circle had given a positive opinion only to be denied by the administration's categorical "niet".
"I found the school's pronouncement inappropriate," explains Heritage Councilor Rosanna Arru. And on the "no" to the project he states «that there is no fury against the San Domenico Caniga association. The premises will be assigned later with an expression of interest."
In the meantime, however, time is passing and the residents of the villages feel excluded . «The children, the elderly, the disabled - they write in the letter addressed to the mayor and council - have not found an answer in the administration which is too busy with the center of the city, but within its own aggregative, associative-cultural baggage which unfortunately always comes more hindered rather than promoted by those who should implement the policy of subsidiarity and impartiality".
In the meantime we make do in some way with the church premises for entertainment and gymnastic activities , then installing Christmas trees in the parks but the disappointment is great. «
We had presented a project for a social-cultural center - say Anna Cherchi and Dora Quaranta, respectively president and member of San Domenico - which envisaged an intergenerational meeting between children and the elderly". But, for the moment, there is no talk about it.
