"It's a mess."

Ignazio Masia, a florist from Sassari, comments on the Municipality's decision to close the cemetery parking lots on October 29 and 30 - this is the entrance from via Predda Niedda - close to the Day of the Dead.

"They are two working days in which many people come to say goodbye to their loved ones. They should do the work either at night or after November 2nd."

The area will be closed to cars to restore the parking signs that are now completely faded . "We are protesting for the people because so many of them come during this period and I can't understand how they came up with the idea of making a decision like this."

Which will also put people with disabilities or with limited autonomy in difficulty. "In 50 years - says Masia - that I have been doing this job I have never seen anything like this".

But the area's problems don't stop at parking. "We have to keep it clean," adds Francesco, Ignazio's son, "because unauthorized people throw garbage here and make everything dirty."

The main theme, however, remains the closing of the 29th and 30th. "Are you kidding?", Ignazio shakes his head in disbelief.
