A slot machine hall in Sassari has been suspended for seven days.
The provincial police commissioner, Filiberto Mastrapasqua, ordered this following checks carried out on the business by administrative police officers.
The investigations led to the discovery of administrative violations due to the absence of the owner, or a designated person, to supervise the premises, thus potentially allowing minors to enter. The establishment was later found to be open to the public outside of hours permitted by municipal ordinances and to have criminals inside.
All these factors led the police commissioner to issue an urgent license suspension order, as a preventative measure aimed at preventing the continuation of dangerous situations.
The measure requires posting a notice outside the venue stating: "Closed by order of the Police Commissioner, pursuant to Article 100 of the Consolidated Law on Public Safety (TULPS)." If, after the closure period expires, similar incidents occur, the license may be permanently revoked.
