Operation on a national scale for the Guardia di Finanza of Sassari, which led to the identification and referral of 62 people for crimes related to smuggling and counterfeiting . The activity was conducted within a broader investigative work, which aims to combat the illicit production and marketing of counterfeit goods.
The investigations of the financial police of the Porto Torres Company, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Sassari, have identified 294 shipments containing illicit material, originating from Germany but manufactured outside the European Union, which were destined for the province of Sassari and other Italian locations . Among the seized materials, reproduced with very sophisticated methodologies, there are over 12,000 contraband electronic cigarettes, then more than 22,000 items of clothing, electronic items (headphones, digital watches, components, cell phone covers) and personal care products (hair dryers, straighteners), footwear and accessories (bags, belts, wallets, hats, watches) all with counterfeit brands of famous multinational brands.
An in-depth analysis of the data declared in the consignment notes of the seized packages led to the identification and referral to the competent Judicial Authorities of the 62 responsible parties, all resident in Italy .
The counteraction carried out by the Guardia di Finanza of the Cagliari Provincial Command also has the meaning of safeguarding the Italian productive fabric , particularly exposed to the damaging effects of the counterfeiting phenomenon.
