The appeal has been there for almost a month, but the person hasn't responded. In Sassari, at the Church of the Carmel, two notes addressed to "Dear Mr. Thief" hang on the door and at the entrance, whose "visit was not welcome."
The recipient, the document states, took away from before the altar "a copper vase" that is "used during Easter night." Its financial value is limited, but it is significant from a religious perspective, given its use. The anonymous individual also allegedly took some small plants, and rummaged through the collection boxes without finding anything of interest.
Acting with the sole concern of not being seen by two worshippers but unaware of the surveillance cameras, which filmed the moments of the theft.
In the message, the church hopes for repentance or, alternatively, for the church not to be seen again, at least not with predatory intent. Otherwise, the paper concludes, "we will be forced to report the incident to the church's owners, i.e., the prefecture."
