The AOU of Sassari is responding to the workers' strike announcement. The strike, called by the unions for May 29th , follows a long series of protests regarding critical issues in the sector. From the failure to pay performance bonuses for 2023 and 2024 to the lack of concrete plans for permanent positions and new hires, the unions have raised a variety of demands. They also denounced the failure of discussions between the unions, the Region, and the AOU, which they described as "inconclusive."
"The Company," the general management reiterates in a statement, "has always been committed to ensuring the full exercise of union rights and to promoting opportunities for participation and sharing. In this regard, including at the recently convened assembly, it worked to identify organizational solutions suitable for accommodating the expected number of participants." "The AOU," the statement continues, "confirms its commitment to maintaining ongoing and responsible dialogue with the unions, aware of the complexity of the issues addressed, which also involve other institutional levels and bodies with specific expertise, including the Board of Statutory Auditors."
The University Hospital's conclusion is a helping hand to its employees, "with the goal," it concludes, "of identifying shared solutions that combine the protection of workers with the quality of services offered to citizens."
