A strange red suitcase deposited on the sidewalk in front of the Cityplex cinema in viale Umberto in Sassari set off the alarm. Moments of fear for the passers-by and the many onlookers who stopped to watch the scene.

The intervention of the bomb squads of the anti-sabotage group of the carabinieri, which has just ended, has ruled out that the suspect object, left unattended in front of the multiplex, was hiding a bomb. The road was closed to traffic by the police: carabinieri, state police and municipal agents have forbidden access to via Politeama and viale Trieste. The passage was also blocked in via Adelasia.

The military used a radio-controlled robot to ascertain the contents of the briefcase, after which a bomb squad carried out the direct verification. Inside the baggage no explosives. The suitcase was empty. The alarm immediately ceased and Viale Trento was reopened to traffic and everything returned to normal.
