Sassari still without water: work continues at Coghinas 2

Sassari and the surrounding area still without water. Tomorrow, Thursday 27 March, the Sardinia Water Authority has announced that it will have to carry out an urgent extraordinary maintenance intervention along the Coghinas 2 aqueduct that supplies raw water to the Abbanoa water purification plants in Truncu Reale (serving Sassari, Porto Torres and Stintino), Castelsardo (also serving Tergu) and for about a month also the Pedra Majore water purification plant (serving Valledoria, Badesi, Santa Maria Coghinas, Viddalba and Trinità d'Agultu) normally supplied by another Enas line, the “Coghinas 1”, currently undergoing maintenance work.
As regards Sassari, the supply will be closed from 6 am on Thursday to 9 am on Friday in the neighborhoods supplied exclusively by Truncu Reale through the Monte Oro reservoir and pipeline (Centro Storico, Monte Rosello basso, Sacro Cuore, Latte Dolce, Santa Maria di Pisa, Porcellana and Piandanna). Water will be available all day in the neighborhoods supplied by the Monte Fiocca gravity pipeline: Li Punti, San Giovanni, Sant'Orsola, Caniga, La Landrigga, Bancali, Ottava, San Quirico, San Giorgio, Predda Niedda and the Bancali prison. Night closures of the supply on Thursday 27 March, from 8 pm to 6 am, Friday from 10 pm to 6 am, in the areas supplied by the Serra Secca Quota 300 reservoir, only partially supplied by Truncu Reale (Luna e Sole, Prunizzedda and Monte Rosello Alto and Carbonazzi). In Lu Fangazzu, San Paolo, San Giuseppe, Monserrato, Tingari, Monte Rosello medio, Sassari 2, Badde Pedrosa, Monte Furru Valle Gardona and Gioscari, night-time shut-offs will be carried out on Thursday 27 March from 4 pm to 6 am the following day to accumulate supplies in the tank, Friday 28 March from 8 pm to 6 am the following day, Saturday 29 March and Sunday 30 March from 11 pm to 6 am the following day to replenish levels after the interruption related to the Enas works. In Porto Torres, shut-off from 6 am on Thursday to 8 am on Friday.
In Stintino in Centro the supply is guaranteed by the stocks accumulated in the municipal storage tanks. Pozzo San Nicola and Agro: supply closure from 2 pm on Thursday to 12 pm on Friday. In Alghero: supply from Cuga activated for the Monte Agnese water purification plant: no restrictions will be made. Castelsardo: supply closure from 6 am on Thursday to 8 am on Friday. Tergu and Viddalba: supply will be guaranteed by the use of local wells. Valledoria: supply closure from 4 pm on Thursday to 11 am on Friday. Santa Maria Coghinas, Badesi and Trinità d'Agultu: supply closure from 1 pm on Thursday to 11 am on Friday.
