He was accused of stalking an 85-year-old woman in a town in the Sassari hinterland. But yesterday, in court in Sassari, the 80-year-old defendant was acquitted by judge Silvia Masala because the fact did not exist.

The woman's complaint referred to a period between 2016 and 2017 when the man allegedly made vulgar phone calls to her, according to the indictment, often lurking outside her house. A relationship between the two, as recalled by the prosecutor Lara Senatore in question, by phone and developed in this way to avoid stirring up gossip in the village.

According to the defense attorney, Salvatore Carlo Castronuovo, there was no persecution by his client towards the widow ; on the contrary, he had lent her 15 thousand euros in cash at her request, without ever receiving them back and no longer answering the man's calls.

The civil party lawyer, Gian Carmelo Serra, had instead confirmed the accusations asking for 10 thousand euros in compensation. And if the prosecutor had asked for acquittal with a doubtful formula, the judge's one occurred with a broad formula.
