Towards 65% of separate waste collection. The objective is the one set by the Municipality of Sassari to avoid fines from the Region which has set the percentage as a minimum figure for the reward.
Yesterday at Palazzo Ducale the new strategy of the administration was illustrated, which also starts from technology with the OpenBin app. When the operator finds a non-compliant delivery, he puts the waste sticker and inserts the report in the app, which is immediately transmitted to the municipal technicians. As the councilor for Ecological Transition Tore Dau, the Green and Environment sector and the company Sassari Ambiente had the opportunity to report in a press conference, at the moment we are proceeding step by step with checks in particular on commercial establishments, 6000 users who, due to packaging, have an impact of more than 20% on the overall collection.
To help with checks and awareness, the Municipality has assigned two permanent local police officers to the competent sector. Awareness and surveillance are the two directions of the administrative action that will also be able to count, in the interface with citizens, on the Municip.Io app, updated with more modern graphics and technology and will allow you to make reports and receive news.
"The first three necessary moves - Dau stated - are the increase in door-to-door collection, the transition to a pay-as-you-throw tariff, that is, calculated on the waste produced by each user, and the reduction in collection frequencies, especially in the countryside."
The meeting was attended by the director of the Environment and Public Green sector of the Municipality of Sassari, Marge Cannas, and the CEO of Sassari Ambiente, Stefano Garbarini, Major Alberto Testoni and the assistant superior chief Tore Mulargia, the contract manager, the executive director and the manager of the communication plan, Deborah Manca, Mario Franco Soggiu and Giampiero Barrocu.
