Three traffic accidents in just a few weeks in Sassari. All in the same area, in the Luna e Sole neighborhood, between Via Di Vittorio and Via De Gasperi, Monsignor Cassani, and Via Pittalis.

And residents are beginning to protest because the collisions appear to have originated with the opening, in August, of the section connecting Via Giagu with Via Di Vittorio. The inauguration by the Municipality of the approximately 600 meters of asphalt, which cost two years of work funded by the Metropolitan Network to the tune of €3.4 million, has led some drivers to drive too hard on the new artery.

Additionally, some road signs have obviously appeared, such as the stop sign, which drivers may still need to memorize. "Speed bumps should be installed," residents suggest. This possibility, however, should have been anticipated during the design phase. Meanwhile, additional exits onto the main artery of Via Di Vittorio are being built, extending towards Via Nenni.

At the moment, however, there is a safety alarm, a paradoxical criticality considering that the new road is specifically intended to redirect traffic from Piazzale Segni and create fewer dangers for pedestrians and motorists.
