The danger remains, two years after the tragedy on Via Cilea in Sassari. In December 2024, 76-year-old Rita Secchi was struck by a car and died while crossing the street, along with a 90-year-old woman, after attending Mass at the Church of Santa Maria Bambina.

In recent days, tragedy was again nearly rekindled, fortunately narrowly averted thanks to timely braking. But the emergency remains. The New Committee of Latte Dolce and Santa Maria di Pisa is reiterating the alarm regarding the need to equip the area with appropriate signs and speed bumps to prevent accidents, and also emphasizes the poor condition of the roads. At the last city council meeting, Councilor Gianluigi Onida raised the issue, emphasizing the persistent critical issues.

Massimo Rizzu, Councilor for Infrastructure, Mobility, and Traffic, responded that the supplementary fund is currently being redistributed among the various sectors of the municipal administration. The goal is to install illuminated roadside markers.
