Lane narrowing, walking pace and slowdowns , for many motorists represent real traps that create traffic problems. In the section between Sassari and Porto Torres , work is underway to replace the central reservation barriers on a stretch of over 10 kilometres, for a total investment of around 3 million euro. Interventions that fall within the scope of a large redevelopment program developed by Anas on the northern section of the 131 Carlo Felice state road, "aimed at increasing the safety standards of the artery".

But for motorists the dividing cones that force continuous "stop and go" and to proceed at a snail's pace continue to represent a nightmare for traffic . Work has already been completed on a 5 kilometer stretch where new New Jerseys have been installed. The interventions continue in the section between km 225 and 230. The conclusion is expected by April 2023. The works are also proceeding in the overpasses towards Bonnanaro (at km 179.220) and in the direction of Siligo (at km 186.680), where interventions are underway maintenance which consist in the demolition and reconstruction of the works.

The first intervention has a value of around 800 thousand euros and is expected to be completed in November 2022. The second, worth around 750 thousand euros, will be completed in December 2022.
