Sassari, pharmacy and clinics without internet: "Great inconvenience"

Three weeks without internet. Farmacia Pisano, a point of reference for hundreds of people in the lower historic center of Sassari, is forced to work with personal cell phone hotspots.
“The ADSL and telephone lines have disappeared,” explains owner Giuseppe Pisano, “and this is causing a blockage of our business, which is based on digital prescriptions.”
The signal's disappearance coincides with the heavy downpour that hit the city more than 20 days ago.
“Unofficial sources tell us that there are major problems with the copper cables that carry the lines to the historic center. Also because the fiber has not been laid here and this meant having a slow line already.”
The problem also affects the medical clinics in the area. “They complain because, given the lack of internet, we are unable to connect to the health card and electronic prescription system”.
A paradoxical situation that cannot be resolved despite continuous calls to the customer service.
“Not to mention that this also causes inconvenience for the customer, because it lengthens the time it takes to dispense drugs and check prescriptions.” And the poor service is part of an increasingly complex context in the final part of Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
“We have been here since 1887 - concludes Giuseppe - but now we are the only ones left. They closed the post office, the branch of the Banco di Sardegna and recently also the Hotel. We want to stay but we ask for more attention from politics. They must not leave us alone”.
