On the thirtieth anniversary of his untimely passing, Theatre en vol is paying tribute to this eminent figure of Sardinian literature by hosting the show "Di matti, monache e maestrale" (Di matti, monache e maestrale) by the Cagliari-based company Actores Alidos at its Spazio Tev at Via De Martini 15 in Sassari. The performance is scheduled for Sunday at 7:00 PM.

The show, by and featuring Marta Proietti Orzella and featuring Luca Pauselli on guitar, unfolds as a theatrical and musical journey, bringing to the stage a mosaic of excerpts and beats, bringing to life some of the protagonists of Atzeni's stories, inspired both by the neighborhoods of Cagliari—specifically, Castello—and by historical information. Atzeni's characters belong to a wide variety of social classes, but the author especially favors the humble, the defeated, the defenseless, and the marginalized.

Thus on stage “ Storia di Carluccio” and “ Storia di una monaca” alternate with verses from the collection “ Versus” , highlighting the skilful use of rhythm in a captivating, mocking language with a quick wit.

“Of madmen, nuns and mistral” It was also born thanks to the precious collaboration of the author's wife Rossana Copez in the selection of the songs, with whom Actores Alidos collaborated to give a fitting tribute to an author with a unique sensitivity, who overturns perspectives and builds new universes, upsets visions, welcomes ghosts, generates beauty.
