He steals a purse, attacks the owner, and flees. The incident occurred yesterday in Sassari, on Via Brigata Sassari, when a 38-year-old Tunisian man broke into an unlocked car and stole the item.
The owner, upon seeing what had happened, engaged in a fight with the thief, being pushed and shoved. The non-EU citizen then fled with the purse, but was stopped and arrested thanks to the intervention of the Carabinieri of the Sassari company.
The 38-year-old was brought to court this morning where, represented by lawyer Gianluigi Poddighe, he was scheduled to answer to the charge of robbery. Judge Marta Guadalupi—the prosecutor was Elisa Succu—ordered a prison sentence. The next hearing will be held on September 16th.
