Arrest after stabbing . In recent days, the State Police arrested a 44-year-old convicted felon in Sassari on charges of aggravated assault, illegal possession of a weapon, and escape. The investigation began on July 3rd when, in the Monte Rosello neighborhood , a young man suffered knife wounds inflicted by a person who immediately fled.

Police officers were able to identify the latter by reconstructing the incident and the movements of the assailant, who was already known to law enforcement. He was under house arrest at the time of the incident, and once located, the officers found a "liner lock" switchblade knife, a type of knife equipped with a one-handed opening and locking mechanism. This knife is listed among the bladed weapons listed in the security decree aimed at combating youth gangs, and its carrying and possession are strictly prohibited.

Two more identical knives were found at the Sassari man's home, leading to his arrest in flagrante delicto for possession of the weapon and out of flagrante delicto for the crimes of serious assault and escape. The suspect, by order of the judge, was taken to Bancali. This arrest is the first case in Sardinia where Article 4-bis of Law 110/1975 has been applied, as part of efforts to combat youth violence.
