Caught red-handed while rummaging through a car after breaking its window, the forty-three-year-old perpetrator was caught by state police officers and arrested this morning on Via dei Gremi in Sassari.

The man, already subject to the obligation to remain in his home, had been under surveillance by the police for some time because he was suspected of having committed several thefts in some of the city's commercial establishments .

The forty-three-year-old, taken to his home, will have to remain awaiting a validation hearing. Meanwhile, police continue their investigation to determine any possible culprits in the other thefts .
