The adult allegedly showed the sexually explicit video on his cell phone to the little girl, the daughter of a neighbor . The minor then revealed the information to her father, who is separated from her mother, and a complaint was filed. Prosecutor Giovanni Dore, who was interviewed during an evidentiary hearing and on whom a psychological evaluation was produced, considered the victim credible. However, at the end of the hearing, he requested an acquittal with a doubtful plea, believing that the crime had not been proven beyond reasonable doubt.
The civil party, represented by attorney Gaetano Paoletti, however, believes the opposite, emphasizing that the consequences of the alleged incident on the child's psychological state were so evident that she was afraid to return to Sardinia . Camilla Pirino and Sergio Oggiano, the defendant's defense attorneys, told a completely different story. In addition to maintaining their client's innocence, they also suggested a strained relationship between the child's parents, with alleged suggestive interventions intended to influence the child's perceptions. The prosecutor, after hearing the defense, asked Judge Valentina Nuvoli to respond at the next hearing, scheduled for the end of February.
