Sassari, madness in the historic center: resident beats two neighbors with belts
The alleged theft of a sweatshirt sparked the fury. Vicolo Agnesa was shocked: "Yet another episode of violence, insults, and threats, even with a knife."Madness in Sassari's historic center. This morning, in Vicolo Agnesa, a resident, a non-EU citizen, attacked two other locals, hitting them with a belt. The rampage was sparked by an alleged theft of a sweatshirt. "No one stole anything from him," reports Lucien Pinna, who lives nearby. "For a year, this man has been insulting us and threatening to kill us, even with a knife, and he's constantly vandalizing everyone."
Documented in several videos, behaviors include setting fire to the washing machine, smashing televisions, and making a racket all night. "He's constantly yelling," says Alessio Ruzzeddu, another resident, "or he's hosed down our windows." Chaos reigns in front of the house, and despite the garbage bin, there are dozens of garbage bags.
"He often throws them at my warehouse," Pinna continues. Today, the state police, the Carabinieri, and an ambulance intervened and took the man away. "This alley used to be very quiet," a resident reports, "now it's a nightmare. And we know he'll be back."
