People with autism learn to be waiters. Thanks to the initiative promoted by Fondazione Lorenzo Paolo Medas, Casa Artigiani and the La Roccia restaurant , about ten young people were able to attend a special course and received the Haccp certificate in recent days, which allows them to work in close contact with food.

"The kids will plate up - explains Irene Pinna, the president of the Foundation - everything that is provided to us, from aperitifs to pizza, and they will have to do it taking care and using maximum hygiene in doing so."

The participants were very enthusiastic about an experience that enriched their practical knowledge. "It opens up many possibilities - says Vittorio Deriu - and I can't wait to get started". "I have grown a lot - explains Daniele Nurchis - mentally and physically and I have learned many things such as, for example, the non-contamination of foods".

The new waiters will work in the soon-to-open club “Inside Aut” in via Madrid, painted in pastel colors and not by chance. «The non-verbal kids - adds Irene - will be taken to make the association yellow as a refrigerator and there they will have a tag with the indication of the drink. The same with pink, the wall on which the displays will be located».

"They were enthusiastic students - says Giulio Piu, secretary of Casa Artigiani - And I believe that the customer will be very satisfied to find this novelty and kids like them".
