Sassari, it's official: Max Pezzali arrives on New Year's Eve.

Max Pezzali will perform at the New Year's Eve concert in Sassari.

Officially announced today by Mayor Giuseppe Mascia, the singer-songwriter from Pavia will perform in Piazzale Segni, a location that will allow for a much larger audience and greater security than the Piazza d'Italia, used for recent "big concerts."

Pezzali is one of the best-known pop artists in Italy, having exploded in the 1990s with the band 883, racking up hits such as “Hanno ucciso l'uomo ragno” and “Nord sud ovest est” and then with his solo career.

A highly successful Sky TV series was recently dedicated to the collaboration between him and Mauro Repetto, co-founder of 883.
