The investigation into the death of William Manca in Sassari has been closed . The notice of conclusion of the investigation has been delivered to two individuals charged with the illicit production, trafficking, and possession of narcotic and psychotropic substances, manslaughter, and concealment of a corpse .
The notices were served last Friday to two Sassari residents, at the end of a long investigation that began in September 2025, when the 46-year-old's body was found in Pian de Sorres , near provincial road 56.
The body was in an advanced state of decomposition, hidden in the bushes, after days of searching conducted by the Carabinieri together with the Sassari Fire Department. According to the Carabinieri's reconstruction , one of the suspects had sold heroin to Manca , and the man, after consuming alcoholic beverages during the evening of September 6, 2025, had suffered a serious illness, falling unconscious.
Despite this , the other suspect allegedly did not call for emergency medical assistance, nor did he take any steps to check on Manca's health, failing to assist him until he died . His body was then abandoned in an uncultivated field, where it was found in the following days.
The investigative findings were therefore submitted to the Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office, which, having assessed the seriousness of the facts, issued a notice of conclusion of the preliminary investigation.
