A new candelabra for the Gremio dei Viandanti. The candle, crafted by the Bussu carpentry workshop from pine wood, with the pictorial work by artist Franco Farina, echoes the lines of the first candelabra, dating back to the 18th century, and will be paraded in alternate years with the second, created in the 1970s.

"It was conceived," said the secretary of the Guild, Nicola Senes, during the presentation this morning at the Fondazione di Sardegna , "as a sort of monument to Our Lady of the Good Way, and the capital features a cycle of images of Marian dogmas and some key moments in the journey of salvation through the eyes of Mary."

Funded with 50,000 euros by the Municipality and the Foundation, it will allow the original candle to be preserved from the stresses of the Festha Manna, being destined in the future for a museum valorization process.

"We are always close to the Guilds," commented Giuseppe Mascia, Mayor of Sassari, at the meeting, emphasizing the city administration's commitment to the Faradda and the associations involved in assigning the venues. Mascia himself, along with Giacomo Spissu, President of the Foundation, will be the patrons of the Candeliere, representing their respective organizations, at the blessing ceremony, presided over by Archbishop Francesco Antonio Soddu, on July 31st at 6:30 pm in the Church of Sant'Agostino. Fabio Madau, President of the Intergremio, was also present at the meeting, praising the institutions' cooperation in the creation of the work.
