A 43-year-old woman accused of hitting her ex-partner with a hammer has been placed under house arrest in Sassari. According to the charges, the 60-year-old man sustained a serious fracture involving the first cervical vertebra.

The State Police, on behalf of the Public Prosecutor's Office, investigated the incident and discovered that the attack was carried out by the woman who, refusing to accept the end of their relationship, attacked her ex-partner from behind.

It later emerged that the suspect had in the past attempted to poison her partner by administering psychotropic drugs to him during meals.

The investigating judge, at the request of the public prosecutor in charge of the case, issued a precautionary measure of house arrest against the suspect, which was carried out in recent days.
