Drugs in the mattress and thousands of euros in their shoes. Local police arrested a Nigerian man and woman on Via La Marmora in Sassari yesterday, accused of drug dealing. Officers had noticed an influx of customers at the couple's home since Monday, and the following day, they entered the apartment, encountering resistance from the 29-year-old. In the apartment, they found 78 doses of cocaine and 20 doses of heroin, mostly hidden under the mattress, as well as nearly €4,000, presumed proceeds of drug trafficking, discovered in several shoes and in the non-EU citizen's purse.

The validation hearing for the two, represented by attorneys Elisabetta Udassi and Marco Cubeddu, was held today in court. Damiano Rossi was the prosecutor. Judge Valentina Nuvoli ordered the 32-year-old, already convicted in another case, to be held in pre-trial detention, while the woman was required to report to the police station on Via Carlo Felice three times a week.
